1. Scope
This Notice explains how VIEWMIUM uses cookies, local storage, mobile key-value storage, caches, software development kits, pixels, scripts and similar technologies. Some are required for sign-in, security, preferences, subscriptions and content delivery. Others, such as optional analytics or crash reporting, may require consent depending on location and configuration.
2. First-party technologies
First-party storage categories include:
- Web session and security state used for sign-in, credential rotation, PKCE, nonce, redirects, CSRF protection and transaction integrity.
- A public contributor-page view key used to reduce duplicate counting; it may persist for up to one year.
- Browser local storage for preferences, feature state and cached interface values.
- Mobile device storage for sessions and local application state, with sensitive values separated into secure storage.
- Application caches on mobile, web and desktop for performance, offline access and recently viewed content.
- Desktop local state for preferences, authentication state and update metadata.
3. Third-party SDKs and services
Depending on the features you use, third-party service categories may include:
- Apple, Google or Meta identity services for user-selected sign-in.
- Subscription infrastructure for product, transaction, entitlement and limited device or store metadata.
- Optional crash and performance diagnostics, only after scrubbing, consent and retention controls are approved where required.
- An AI provider for the disclosed question, atlas context, retrieved text, output and diagnostics; this requires a separate AI disclosure.
- Cloud and content-delivery logging for security and delivery.
4. Consent and regional controls
Necessary storage may operate where permitted. Optional analytics and similar technologies are disclosed and require consent where applicable. If sale, sharing or targeted advertising is introduced in the future, legally required opt-outs and Global Privacy Control handling must be implemented first.
In the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, non-essential storage or access must not occur before valid consent unless a documented exemption applies. Mobile operating-system permissions are requested only when a feature needs access. AI permission is separate from cookie consent.
5. Your controls
- Use VIEWMIUM cookie settings for optional categories where available.
- Use browser controls to delete or block cookies; blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in.
- Use mobile and desktop operating-system controls for permissions and application data.
- Withdraw optional consent as easily as it was given, without losing unrelated service access.
- Use the separate account-deletion process to request deletion of account data.
6. Changes to storage technologies
VIEWMIUM periodically reviews web storage, mobile dependencies and SDKs, desktop storage, consent behavior and network activity against this Notice. We assess new SDKs and storage technologies and update this Notice when their use materially changes.
